This wonderful mushroom grew in one night in the front yard of my friend, Kim Sponaugle. Kim is the illustrator who created the header for Fairies, Fantasy and Faith. And being an artist, she couldn't resist capturing it on paper ... with a magical addition, of course!

How clever! I love the way she captured the feeling of the mushroom's shape without copying it exactly. It looks better in the sketch, and the fairy reading the book is perfect!
